4 Napa County Wineries FDC has Worked With

FDC Celebrates 40 Years of Winery Design and Construction in Sonoma and Napa County

From conception to construction, Facility Development Company is honored to have played such an integral role in the development of so many Sonoma and Napa County Wineries. For the past 40 years, we have helped winemakers achieve their dreams with creative design and commercial construction services.

Having worked with over 100 Napa County wineries, FDC has demonstrated a high degree of expertise in the field of winery construction. Our innovative work has helped to solidify Northern California as the wine capital of the Western United States. Below we spotlight four of Napa County’s premier wineries that Facility Development Company has been proud to work with.

1. Pre-engineered Metal Buildings at Dakota Shy Winery

Dakota Shy Winery Construction Site

Dakota Shy is a wine industry leader, known for upholding Napa Valley’s reputation for producing the best Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in the world.

Dakota Shy Winery selected FDC to construct a beautiful new 7,000 square foot winery facility on their estate located in the heart of Wine Country. Nestled amongst St. Helena’s old-growth redwood trees, our construction team was excited to incorporate the land’s natural beauty into the new wine campus.

The construction of the new pre-engineered metal buildings on the Dakota Sky estate was completed in 2017. The brand new facility included a Fermentation Room, Barrel Storage, Wine Laboratory, Business Offices, Wine Tasting Room, and bathrooms.

2. Ashes and Diamonds in Napa County

FDC is proud to be a part of the team selected to create Ashes and Diamonds’ new 20,000 square foot hospitality and wine production facility. Our team helped seamlessly integrate mid-century modern design throughout the tasting campus and state-of-the-art production facility. The zig-zag roof and playful portholes quickly became an iconic stop for Napa County visitors from all over the world.

3. The Prisoner Wine Company Tasting Campus

The Prisoner Wine Company had a vision of breaking free from the norm and knew we would be eager to help. This project required transforming a 40,000 square foot traditional Napa Valley winery into a unique modern space.

With tremendous attention to detail and dedication to making every project unique, we were excited to step up to the challenge. The Prisoner Wine Company’s new tasting campus is now an essential stop for wine enthusiasts in the heart of Napa Valley.

4. Michael David Winery Facility Expansion

FDC is proud to have been chosen by Michael David Winery to undertake the expansion of its 35,000 square feet production facility in Lodi, CA.

The expansion included the construction of a new fruit receiving facility, with the capacity to process both red and white grapes, as well as the addition of a two million-gallon raised tank farm and 10,000 square feet of office buildings.
